Career Highlights

Table 1 - Past and Present Employers

The following table offers a brief overview of companies that have employed me on a full or part time basis from 1980 to the present, including short term or contract assignments. It does not include my work as a Web site designer, either on a business or volunteer basis. To access that information Click here for business sites or use this link for volunteer sites

The job titles listed here were assigned by the employer. If no title was given to me, I have assigned a title to the job which most closely matches my work.

To learn more about my employment with any of these companies or organizations, just click on the link of your choice. Where possible, I have also provided a link to their own Web sites, a useful tool if you wish to learn more about them (or about my work with them!).

Due to corporate restructuring or other factors, some of these organizations may no longer exist as they did during my time, operate under a different name, have moved their offices or have made other changes. These are realities of today's corporate world - and are reflected in my entry for each company as appropriate.

Explanatory Notes:

This online resume is accurate as of Summer 2011 and will be revised as circumstances warrant. It is designed as a complement to my "paper" resume, but since space limitations restrict the amount of information you can offer in a "paper" resume, this one is more comprehensive, and can expand on what you find there. If you wish to have a "paper" resume, I invite you to use the following link: My resume in PDF.

In September 2009, I also released a strategy paper, designed to help promote and market my services to interested parties, and which I revise from time to time as necessary. You can acccess the latest edition by visiting: My Personal Marketing Strategy

In June 2011, I had the pleasure of taping a VideoBio. I really enjoyed doing it, and it's a simple and effective way to learn more about me in a concise and easy to watch format. I hope you'll watch it and share it with the whole world. And of course, it's also designed as a marketing tool to help sell myself to interested parties. If that's you, then let's talk soon!

Scan my QR code! Have you noticed these really weird black and white images appearing all over the place? It's called a QR code. The first QR code according to a May 2011 article in The Atlantic magazine appeared in Japan in 1994, and although it took a while to catch on, QR codes are now becoming one of the hottest new online trends. In fact, they're turning up in some pretty weird places (or at least I think so!). For example a July 2011 article from USA Today mentions that someone even has a QR code on their tombstone!

One of my LinkedIn groups had a discussion about them in August 2011, and someone mentioned they heard about someone in France who in collaboration with a Ballantine’s ad campaign had a QR code tatooed on his chest. When you scan it you see an animation on your phone, which can be changed overtime. And in a similar tale, someone in Arizona had their QR code turned into a tatoo. If you're into designer QR codes, here's a Web site that can tell you all about it. This could easily turn into a discussion about QR codes, but I think I will leave that for another time - maybe a future blog entry!

The above discussion, however, was meant to highlight only one thing. I have a QR code right here on my resume and on the Home Page of my Web site! If you have a SmartPhone, IPhone or similar device, why not scan it now and get all my Contact info in one place. You'll find my QR code image at the top of this page, or just use the one found below this text. Just like the VideoBio I talked about above, I hope you'll share this image with everyone. Ready to go? Let's start scanning, gang! :

Like most Web sites, my online resume may attract a wide variety of visitors - my primary target audience consists of anyone who may be interested in my services, regardless of whether you wish to employ me on a full or part time basis - permanent or contract. While my primary areas of specialization are in library and information management, as well as in Web site design and maintenance, this resume shows that I have a broad range of skills and expertise which will be valuable to any employer. You are most welcome to share this location with anyone you wish. Even if you are not interested in my services - you may know someone who is.

Although this online resume is primarily aimed at visitors from Toronto and surrounding area (within a reasonable commuting distance from Hamilton), the nature of the Internet is such that I can work with organizations worldwide (isn't e-mail terrific?). I have served as a, coach, consultant, or simply offered some friendly advice to a number of organizations who needed help with their Web sites in places like Collingwood and Pembroke, Ontario and also in my hometown of St. Lambert, Quebec. That's in addition to more "local" places such as Hamilton, Oakville and Mississauga. For further information, contact me at any time, or use any of the links found here.

Thanks to all of you who have examined my credentials as presented here. I sincerely appreciate those who take an interest in my professional career. The purpose of this resume is to provoke a response for those who wish to work with me - if this has succeeded, I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Visit Greg's Mega Marketplace - Online Shopping at its best!!

In the spring of 2010, I launched Greg's Mega Marketplace. This is designed as an online shopping mall - a chance for you to purchase a wide variety of products and services from many of North America's leading vendors. I really think this is a "win-win" situation. You can many useful and valuable products, and since I get a small commission on each purchase - this can be another useful income source which I hope will grow over time.

And if you have a product or service that you would like me to list on GMM, or if you're thinking about launching your own affiliate marketing business, we can work together. Let's talk soon!
