GMM was launched in the spring of 2010, and my ultimate goal is make this the best site of its kind on the Internet. If you would like to help me reach this goal (and also make some money together!), then I hope you will consider taking out a listing to help promote your product or service and also drive traffic to this site. If that interests you, then I would be pleased to hear from you and to consider your listing request. But before we examine my terms - a short backgrounder.
I started GMM with the goal that one day my site will become the best online shopping experience in the world. As part of this goal, I want to create a shopping environment which is enjoyable, friendly and welcoming for all my visitors. So much so that they will want to purchase some of the products offered here - on many occasions!, and will also share this site with others who will do the same. As part of creating and maintaining this environment, I will NOT list any product or service that falls under any or all of the following categories:
Any products or services which are of an overtly sexual or violent nature (such as pornography or other X rated material).
Any products or services that promote any form of racial, sexual, religious, political or other intolerance. Even if your political, social or religious opinions may be the same as mine, I would like my site to list products that represent an inclusive and tolerant society where everyone feels comfortable shopping at any of my vendors.
In stating the above, I am fully aware that the definition of just what constitutes an inclusive and tolerant society is highly debatable. So for this and many other reasons, I reserve the right to determine what falls into these categories - if you disagree with my interpretation, however, I would be willing to discuss this further with you. The same conditions apply if I chose not to list your product or service on GMM for any reason.
Your product must represent a legitimate business enterprise, one which is legally incorporated and in good standing with your local Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce or similar entity. I will not list any business which may be seen as a scam, pyramid scheme, a get-rich-quick enterprise or similar entity. If I deem it necessary, I may ask for proof of your company's credentials.
I will also NOT list any duplicates - defined as a vendor that is already listed here on GMM. For example, I already have an affiliate agreement with Amazon to sell their books, CD's and other products. So if you also have an online Amazon store, I will not list it here.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO LIST ON GMM? (AKA INFO ON FEES, COMMISSIONS...) I do not have a set hosting fee and/or commission rate for listing your product or service on GMM. In other words, I am flexible and am willing to negotiate a business arrangement that is mutually beneficial. As part of any agreement we reach, however, I would also ask that you promote Greg's Mega Marketplace as part of your company's marketing and advertising strategies and/or promotional campaigns. I want to see thousands of people visiting this site every day. High traffic volumes. Greater awareness of GMM in the global marketplace. After all, I could reach my goal of having the best online shopping site on the Net. But it doesn't mean anything if no one knows it's there. So as one part of our business arrangement, I would love to see this site promoted and advertised as much as possible.
By promoting and marketing GMM and increasing my visitor traffic, we all succeed. The more traffic comes to GMM (and in particular to your company listing), the greater the chance that people will make purchases, and we can all make some money. And after all, isn't that what an online shopping mall is here for? To offer outstanding products at excellent value and to generate income for all concerned? I thought so!!
THINKING ABOUT STARTING YOUR OWN AFFILIATE MARKETING PRACTICE OR SIMILAR BUSINESS? LOOKING FOR AN ONLINE HOME? I INVITE YOU TO READ THE FOLLOWING SECTION: I'm just one of millions of people out there who consider themselves to be self-employed, a freelance consultant, or who have income streams outside the traditional "9 to 5" workplace. It's a rapidly growing part of today's economy. If you have been thinking about doing this very same thing (setting up your own online shopping portal or similar business venture), but don't want to go through the time, expense and other hassles of setting up your own Web site, I would be willing to help you by offering you space here on GMM for as long as you wish.
In particular, I want to reach out to other HAPPEN members who may be considering this option, regardless of the reason. For example, you may wish to generate additional income while you look for your next job. Maybe you've had it with the corporate "rat race" and want to go into business for yourself and work from home. Those are just 2 examples. But if you're reading this and thinking that affliate marketing or similar arrangement may be your thing, and you need an online home, even if it's only for a few months or other time period while you get things going, then let's get together and see if we can work out a business arrangement that is mutually beneficial. By pooling our resources, we may be able to create a "win-win" situation, where we can all make some money and build some great business relationships at the same time. If that's something you are thinking about, let me offer a few suggestions. First, do some research on the subject of home-based businesses, affiliate marketing and related subjects. It's always important to do your homework and be well prepared - whether it's business or any other part of life, you will greatly benefit if you do so. Second, read the content I have elsewhere on this page. Although I would be happy to help you out, I see this as a partnership where we can help each other. So I want to make sure there is an upside for both of us if we choose to work together. In particular, read about what I will or will not list here on GMM. Third, as part of doing your homework, talk to family members, friends or others whose opinions you trust before entering any business venture. Being your own boss, working from home... call it what you will. All this may sound very tempting and lucrative. But before you answer that "siren call", be honest and realistic about all this. While it can be very rewarding, this type of work is often very demanding and time-consuming. You may find that you spend more hours on your own business than you ever did in the office. This is not your average "9 to 5" job. It's hard and demanding work being your own boss. And it may be a while before you see any benefit from doing this. Make sure you know exactly what's involved and be prepared to make a serious effort before deciding to travel this path.
